What to Expect From Your Sessions

Initial consultation:

Your hypnotherapy journey begins with a full consultation about your issue, what you want to achieve from the treatment and how I might be able to help you reach those goals. I shall then guide you through a questionnaire so that I can gather all the details I need. After this session I will create a bespoke hypnotherapy plan tailored to your needs, which I shall prepare ahead of your first hypnotherapy session which is usually scheduled a week later.

At the end of the consultation, you will have a better understanding of how your brain works, why it causes you to think, feel and behave in the way you do and what we can do to help you create positive change. You will also receive a hypnosis download to listen to between sessions.

Please allow up to one hour for the initial session. 

Subsequent sessions:

In each follow-up session, we’ll take a solution-focused, future-oriented approach. We’ll begin by identifying any positive shifts that have happened since we last spoke, exploring what’s been working, and pinpointing the next small steps to move you forward.

After this, I’ll guide you into a deeply relaxed hypnotic state where we’ll work at a subconscious level, reinforcing the changes you want to make, and building new thought patterns that support the life you want to create.

Your treatment plan will be as unique as you are. Depending on your goals and needs, sessions may include a blend of hypnotherapy, NLP, coaching, CBT, or EFT techniques. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Each session is tailored not only to the original plan, but also to what comes up on the day.

One of the powerful things about this work is that your subconscious continues to process and shift between sessions. It’s common for new insights and solutions to arise when you’re least expecting them. I believe that, deep down, your subconscious already holds the solution – we’re just working together to help you access it.

Your Questions Answered

Despite what others might have you believe, there’s no superior therapeutic technique or silver-bullet cure. My method is as unique as you are, and my experience and intuition helps me find the best fit for your individual goals to help you achieve success in the shortest time possible.

Hypnosis allows for deep self-exploration and so those who are open and receptive to the process will be a great candidate for hypnotherapy. It is important therefore that you want change and are motivated and committed to achieving your therapy goals.

It can be argued that all hypnosis is in fact self-hypnosis. It’s not something that can be done to you. As a hypnotherapist I use a gentle tone to guide you into a calm, relaxed state, offering comforting suggestions that you can either choose to accept or resist. When you accept those suggestions, your breathing with slow down and you will start experiencing a sense of peacefulness. It can be likened to that fuzzy warm feeling you got as a child when you were read a bedtime story, semi-paying attention to the words but often drifting in and out. Or when you’re driving on auto-pilot, not thinking about where you’re going but trusting your body to do what it knows how to do to get you to your destination safely. So it is a very naturally occurring state that allows us to communicate with the subconscious more directly.
